Unwind with Nature’s Luxury

Next in our vendor's countdown is Danica of Nature's Luxury. I asked her to answer a few questions and share some of her crafting experiences with us.

Please introduce yourself and your business in 2-3 sentences.

I started with the creation of the label Nature’s Luxury in 2007. We specialise in hand-dyed all natural fibre yarns, unusual fibres, such as qiviut, yak and baby camel, just to mention a few and also yarns from rare sheep breeds such as the Coburg Fox Sheep for example. We also carry some exclusive yarn labels such as Blue Sky Alpacas, Habu, Madelinetosh, Ozark Handspun etc.

What treats can we look forward to seeing at your stand during Unwind?

Fresh out of NL’s dye atelier, I will be bringing along the following yarns: BLISS A*** (cashmere/silk), FAROUCHE (baby camel/silk), GEISHA (silk ribbon), ROYAL QIVIUT (Qiviut) and the novelty HAUTE COUTURE (cashmere, silk & sequins). A selection of exquisite wooden knitting needles will be there as well.

In collaboration with Madelinetosh, we created our first custom colour NATURE’S LUXURY’S EDEN, which we are excited to present for the first time in Brighton.

I designed a shawl especially for Unwind Brighton. Discover yourself  “Rose on Brighton Beach”.

What do you enjoy most about working in the fibre industry?

I’ll be brief here – the creative process, touch & feel, colour and meeting so many people who are as enthusiastic about fibres as I am.

What are your favourite fibres or fibre blends?

Oh, that is impossible for me to say. To me, it is important that the fibre suits the project I design or have in mind. It can be a very fine cashmere/silk blend, a lovely merino or hardy sheep wool with a rustic feel.

What are you looking forward to the most about Unwind?

Obviously, meeting lots of other people with the same passion for yarns & fibres. Then, shopping for yarns from my fellow vendors. I love to discover what other people do and bring home some of it. But please don’ tell my husband. ;-) He won’t understand why I would need even more.

Finally? To Brighton itself! Last year, after reading a novel taking place in Brighton, I wanted to plan a visit there. When I heard about Unwind Brighton, my decision was made. PS: The book - My policeman from Bethan Roberts – an excellent novel

A big thank you to Danica for taking the time to share some insight into her knitting world. You can find Danica’s website/ etsy shop by visiting www.naturesluxury.com.
